Our luncheon will feature a presentation by Andrew Brooks, Director of Marketing for Santikos Entertainment.

Headshot Andrew Brooks Santikos

A native of Elmendorf, Texas, Andrew is a 2007 graduate of Texas A&M University with a degree in Agricultural Economics. He also earned a master’s degree in Business Administration in 2011. As of May 2017, Andrew is the Director of Strategy & Innovation at Santikos Entertainment, a social enterprise here in San Antonio, Texas. At Santikos, Brooks helps lead the marketing function for budgeting, advertising, marketing programs, strategy and corporate sponsorships. He also runs a small real-estate company on the side with duplex investments in College Station, Texas. Brooks, also works jointly with his family on their cow-calf and horse training operation, Sandy Oaks Farm, in Elmendorf Texas.

Before joining the Santikos Entertainment team, Brooks started his career purchasing commodities for Cargill Animal Nutrition in Sioux City, Iowa. He then spent 6 years with the Beef Check-off, where he honed his marketing craft promoting the “Beef, It’s What’s For Dinner” campaign as a marketing and education manager for the Texas Beef Council.

In that position, he developed and maintained industry partnerships with manufacturers, processors, purveyors, retail chains, restaurants and producers, including some of the leading retail supermarkets and food service distributors in the country.

Through retail promotions, foodservice promotions, marketing and educational seminars, Brooks worked to promote beef and educate merchandisers, retail buyers and consumers about the proper preparation and positioning of beef in a healthy diet, its palatability qualities and nutritional value for all lifestyles to enjoy.

After his time at the Texas Beef Council, Brooks moved onto the American Hereford Association and Certified Hereford Beef (CHB) in Kansas City, Missouri, as their Vice President of Marketing. His primary focus was the development of consumer marketing programs and co-branding efforts with CHB LLC end users. At CHB he was able to establish the company objectives for domestic and international sales, growth, profits, visibility and brand positioning. In the three years with Certified Hereford Beef, the program grew almost forty percent to fifty-two million pounds annually and launched programs across the U.S. and in international markets like Mexico, Barbados, Panama, and Peru.

Brooks was excited to bring his marketing expertise back to San Antonio along with this wife and new baby boy, Augustus.

Santikos Entertainment is more than a movie theatre. It’s a mission.

Santikos Entertainment, formerly Santikos Theaters, was founded in 1911 by Greek entrepreneur Louis Santikos and was owned and operated by his son, John L. Santikos, until his passing in 2014. In 2015 as part of the estate of the late John L. Santikos, Santikos Entertainment was donated to the San Antonio Area Foundation as a lasting gift to San Antonio.

Santikos Entertainment is dedicated to providing a best-in-class movie going experience by integrating leading-edge technologies with extremely comfortable surroundings and fabulous guest service experiences to create incomparable entertainment destinations. But that’s just half of the story. As defined by its business model and guided by the gift of John L. Santikos, today Santikos Entertainment operates as a social enterprise, serving the higher purpose of giving back to the community in a meaningful way. They operate as a for-profit company that exists for the sole purpose of giving back to non-profits in the San Antonio area in the form of donations, sponsorships, grants and programming that educate, cure, support and otherwise enhance the lives of the local community. Whether it’s arts and culture, health, youth and education, or people in need, Santikos Entertainment is invested in building a stronger San Antonio.
